About Family Law in Partnership

Our name says it all. At Family Law in Partnership we work in partnership with our clients and with our other trusted advisers for the benefit of our clients. We provide tailor-made solutions for our clients enabling them to make informed choices to best suit their needs. Our goal is to minimise damage and help our clients and their families move forward with their lives.

Our work
A boutique family law firm established in 1995 and now based in Aldwych, London, Family Law in Partnership advises on the full range of family law issues including:

  • Divorce and separation (including financial issues);
  • Never-married family separations (cohabitant claims, financial support for children, the CSA - now CMS);
  • Surrogacy and other children issues including parenting disputes and applications to relocate abroad; and
  • Domestic violence/physical protection.
  • We are experts in international family law issues and are members of a wide range of national and international family law associations. Family Law in Partnership offers real strength in depth with a team of six directors, two family lawyer consultants and four associates working closely with our two non-lawyer family consultants and therapists.

    Our approach
    We are renowned for our expertise in resolving disputes outside the court process using a range of methods including mediation, family arbitration and collaborative practice. We were the first family law firm to give real focus to out of court settlement skills - we introduced collaborative practice to the UK, were the first firm with two family law arbitrators, the first with in-house counsellors and one of the first with professionals trained to work directly with children. We offer the best chance of avoiding litigation for those clients who prefer that course whilst offering robust litigation expertise to those who want or need to use the court process to resolve the issues they face.

    We also support clients who want to take a more active role in conducting their divorce or separation, flexing our service to suit their needs. Clients can dictate the extent of our involvement and the pace at which matters proceed – we will move as quickly or slowly as required. Our flexibility is also reflected in our costs. We offer a broad range of family law professionals from higher cost, market leaders through to lower cost, non-qualified legal assistants. A competitive fixed price divorce service is also available. Our support for clients and their families extends to our parenting workshops which encourage clients to put their children at the heart of their decision making and are free of charge to all clients.
